A GEN12ii project trip provides:
Through all of that, you will also develop your evangelism, discipleship and leadership skills.
Three distinct features mark GEN12ii project trips:
GEN12ii is committed to prepare out teams to be sent out for mission trips ranging from 7 to 30 days. Mission trip trainings are essential to equip every mission tripper for a meaningful and power packed mission trips. Each mission tripper will be trained in how to raise his or her personal support*, spiritual warfare, evangelism skills, intercessory prayers for the nations, cross-cultural training and team dynamics. Each GEN12ii team is accompanied by experienced Campus Crusade for Christ staff, who will help mentor and coach the team during the trip.
*Before you go on a trip, you will have the privilege of trusting God to develop a team of ministry partners for prayer and financial support. Prayerfully, this whole experience will prepare you for greater ministry effectiveness wherever you are, and to challenge you toward a lifetime of ministry for the Lord.
Being an international and inter-denominational movement, we believe in building spiritual movements everywhere. The key to that is building strategic partnerships with local churches, mission agencies and other Campus Crusade for Christ ministries all over the world. It is our desire to join God where He is at work among the nations, to encourage the local missionaries and to help build and accelerate the local movements.
John Piper says, "Missions exists because worship doesn't." Each GEN12ii team is commissioned to go out by the words of our Lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nationals, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."
You will spend a lot of your time meeting new people, sharing your faith and, depending on the length of your project, doing basic follow-up with students and locals. In most cases, ministry is very relational. You are making friends and talking about Jesus. You are building relationships and bringing people to a point of decision to follow Christ. After they trust Christ, you will help them get connected to a local church or ministry so that the local workers can continue to help them develop their relationship with God.
Q. Who is suitable to sign up?
Anyone ages of 17-28 years old.
Q. I have no clue about anything on mission. Can I still go? Can I get training for the project?
Yes. It is our desire that we send well. Thus, we have prepared a comprehensive training for all trippers in all the waves. The scope includes handling spiritual warfare, learning to find common ground, intercession, giving your testimonies and many more. Find out from our website!
Q. What is the $50 application processing fee for?
The non-refundable $50 application processing fee is used to help cover the administration costs, training costs and overheads.
The sooner you apply, the more likely you will have the opportunity to be considered for your first choice. There is an application processing fee of $50. Get online and confirm your partnership in this global task force before the Closing dates!
Q. I'm a wave 1 tripper, but what if I can't attend the training at Metamorphosis 2006?
Please email us about it at gen12ii@sccc.org.sg.
Q. I have the heart to go for mission, but I don't have the money to go. How should I pay for it?
You do not use your own money to pay for the projects. Each student on project has the opportunity to grow their faith by trusting God to provide the financial resources needed to attend project. God will provide for you to serve Him!
"The heavens are yours, and yours also the earth; you founded the world and all that is in it." Psalm 89:11
"And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19
Once you go through the application process and receive acceptance, we'll train you on how to ask people you know to be a partner in ministry with you through prayer and financial support. You'll be able to invite others-family, friends, fellow church members, etc.-to invest in expanding God's kingdom as you go on the project. We'll guide you with instructions. It is always encouraging to see God bring in the financial support that we need for our project staff and students! Be encouraged, every staff member in the world is responsible for building a team of ministry partners and God has done it over and over again. He continues to prove himself faithful and gives abundantly beyond what you can imagine.
Q. Who will I be going on project with?
You will be going with students from different Polytechnics and Universities in Singapore. Projects will vary in size, both in the number of students and staff who will be with you, but all are given leadership of a staff in-charge, student team leader and assistant team leader. Each of you will also be given a portfolio to serve the team.
Q. What do my parents need to know?
Upon your acceptance, we will send a letter to your parent to share with them what GEN12II is about, and to inform of your interest in a project along with your need to raise support. If you are below 21 years of age, you need your parent to sign the Indemnity form. Most likely, you are already familiar with Campus Crusade for Christ. You've probably been hearing about GEN12II for awhile now. Your parents, most likely, do not have the same familiarity with project that you do and they will need you to be open in your communication about the project. The more you communicate the better - so go ahead, introduce them to the website and tell them everything you know and why you want to be involved.
Q. Should I inform my pastor about my interest in the project?
Yes! You must let your Pastor/Mission leadership know about your desire to go on a project. This allows your Pastor and church to be part of the exciting mission you are stepping into. They can be a good prayer and financial support to you, as well as giving valuable insights and wisdom. We will also be sending a letter to your pastor to inform them of your interest in GEN12II.
Q. Will we be covered under insurance?
Yes. For all projects, local and overseas, we will buy travel insurance for everyone. This covers medical expenses, luggage loss, flight delays and more. Call us if you want to find out more.
Get yourself "WYS" trained!
It is a requirement for all GEN12ii mission trippers to be trained in sharing their faith before they are eligible to apply for any projects.
Please check with the CCC in your campus for any upcoming Personal Evangelism training that you can participate.
