Breakthrough On Campus!!!

Thank God for term 3. Breakthrough is here!

After 12 long weeks of term, finally its holidays!!! I personally want to thank God for bring new babies in our midst throughout this term.

It has been a break through when I come to think of it. Tears of joy and thanksgiving flowed when I led my 2nd year DG yesterday. In short I want to thank God for the 7 people who received Christ in term 3.

Breakthrough at Acts On Campus

EvangelineEvangelineIt was just last week on the 25/10/06 on a typical Wednesday afternoon during our ministry's time of Acts On Campus that I personally witnessed God's power and hand at work when he used me to bring Zhenxiu, a second year Business IT student to the saving knowledge of our lord Jesus Christ! PRAISE THE LORD! The psalmist David exhorts us in Psalm 126:3 by saying, "The lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy." I truly testify that God brings about inexpressible joy and gladness in our hearts when he uses us as his vessels to convey the message of hope and the ministry of reconciliation. I am sure Cornelyus can testify to that as well when he also led Chin Kai to receive Christ two weeks ago. I thank the lord for leading me to Zhenxiu and for the divine opportunity of sharing the 4 Spiritual Laws with her.

When I approached and asked her to fill up a student questionnaire, she indicated on the questionnaire that religion was the least important in her life. Moreover, I also heard from Joel, a crusader, who was her ex buddy classmate, that she was a hard worker; especially towards her studies and assignments. Base on the factors above, it would seem as if the chances of her receiving Christ at that point would be slim, but once again, I thank God that I still managed to ask her if she had seen or heard about the 4 spiritual laws. She told me that she hadn't and gave me the go ahead sign that it would be alright if I took a few minutes to share with her the WYS booklet. Little did I expect that she would look intrigued and interested as I shared page after page. I am reminded once again that the gospel message of hope and unconditional love is still as fresh and alive today as it was a hundred or a thousand years ago. I am also reminded that the word of God is living and active and is able to convict the souls and the hearts of men. Zhenxiu was convicted of the need to place Christ on the throne of her life in order that her interests be directed by him; thereby resulting in harmony with God's plan for her life. She hesitated a little at first when I invited her to say the sinner's prayer with me even though she already pointed out earlier that she desired to have a Christ directed life. I then proceeded to ask her if she felt Jesus standing and knocking on the door of her heart; beckoning to come in. She said yes and then I told her that in order for her to have Christ direct her life, she would need to open the door of her heart to receive Christ. She then agreed and repeated the sinner's prayer after me! I rejoice in Christ for her childlike faith in believing that Christ would come into her life just as he had promised.

I am simply amazed at what God is doing in Singapore Polytechnic! The floodgates of heaven are indeed opened and our SPCCC ministry is witnessing before our very eyes the outpouring of God's spiritual blessings from on high; the gift of Salvation to students in SP! The powers of darkness released on our land will indeed never prevail and never withstand against the intercessory prayers offered up to a God who moves and works to carry out his divine plans and purposes for the people upon his heart  The harvest I believe, is ready to be harvested. Let's continue to be on the lookout for breakthroughs on our campus; and at the same time to also be alert and ready for the spiritual battle that we are up against.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

My Experience on Acts on Campus

Robin XuRobin XuLast wednesday 25/OCT/06, both me and bingfeng went out to witnessing in the school of MM. We went about getting people to do surveys, after which we asked for permission to share with them the gospel(4SL). However, the response was disappointing as in wherever we went they just weren't interested in listening. All we had were surveys but not 1 4SL booklet shared.

Everytime i am out doing witnessing on campus, i believe in and practise one principle:

If this person doesn't want to hear the gospel, i'll find someone else who is willing. There are many others yet to hear.

Many times we return from AOC or in the past "harvest day" without sharing anything but i realised that there are so many students around, surely there is one who is willing to listen.

Thus I kept praying that the Lord would lead us to someone who is willing to listen. I prayed for an "open door" to share the gospel after the survey. Hence, both of us went to FC4 and we spotted this young man sitted alone at the corner. We got him to do the survey, i prayed that he would be willing to hear and THANK GOD, he hear us share the gospel!

At the end of the entire sharing i learnt a few things going on in his life:
He has a Christian girlfriend & if her family knows about him, they can't accept him.
He has been to a church a few times yet has never gotten to hear the gospel till the incident!
He has been considering Christianity because of his girlfriend.
Being in an unequally yoked relationship is disobedience. Yet at the same time, through this incident, I see how merciful God is towards this young man when I learn of his situation. I believe the Lord led us to share the gospel with him. It is the first time he heard of the gospel despite being in church a few times. Now he is one step closer to receiving Christ. He said he can't accept Christ now because he wants to know and understand more first, so we told him about Christianity Explained (CE) which would give him a better idea & he simply agreed to it!

Crusaders, when you are out in campus witnessing, pray for God's leading. Don't stop. He will lead you to share with the right person. Nothing occur by accident. Just as how he led me & bingfeng, the Lord will lead you too.

His name is Chester and Gabriel is leading him in Christianity Explained (CE). We have one true seeker here. Pray for them. For Chester to be able to accept the truth. The eyes of his heart to be opened & for Gabriel, that God uses him powerfully to impact Chester.

The Lord will use whoever is willing.

Many others are waiting to hear the gospel,

Come make a difference in our campus by being the witnesses of Jesus Christ!

For the glory of the LORD,
Robin Xu

Soccer Interest Group made history record!

I'm so glad to tell you that on Tuesday, 31/10/2006 when we had our soccer game, Ian, Yong Jie, Cornelyus, Jian Hao and Joel brought their class mates to play with us. We were all glad to get to know one another through the game. Shao Wei is our top-scorer for the day! Hey guys, thanks so much for availing yourselves to be there to befriend and interact with the new friends. I hope that as we invite them to join us at our subsequent events that we will be able to share with them. I'm so thankful that Cornelyus is organizing the outing at Sentosa this coming Tuesday at such a short notice so that we can have opportunity to reach out and at the same time enjoy the fellowship of our people. Here are the names of the friends who came yesterday. Do continue to pray for them by name that God would use this platform for us to reach them Thank you so much for reading this email.

The adventures of Tina Lee :)

Ronald & TinaRonald & TinaI am typing this on bus 74. My heart is filled with joys and excitements indeed! Two girls have just entered the kingdom of God. Chloe and Evelyn! The angels are rejoicing in heaven, I could feel it.

It has been a long time since I last experienced this kind of joy. Yesterday Priscilla just reminded me the urgency of sharing the good news and I must ask God to soften my heart…to be honest, I have been ignoring God’s love for His people and my desire to see lost souls being saved is slowly disappearing due to reasons which I do not know… I prayed that I will once again be passionate towards the lost just like what I used to be when I was in mission trip…

The next day, which was the last Act on Campus this term, God used me to bring two girls to Christ.

It was a fun and long sharing…Evelyn’s purple ring connected us somehow and we were so excited to know one another. Chloe’s rebellious character also somehow reflected my disobedience to God.

For those who go out to the harvest field with fears, they will harvest with joys…I believe God is softening my heart and training me to love His people…

Chloe and Evelyn were touched by the Holy Spirit that they chose to open their hearts to God. Personally I was moved by the unity and love that Evan, Annabel and me had, I could hear Evan and Bell’s prayers and I knew God would answer them all … My sharing has brought much laughter to our conversation and I thank God for giving me wisdom and creativity to connect with the girls.

For all, I give Him all the glory, God's grace is sufficient…there are always divine appointments in which we will encounter God so closely… Many times I go out for evangelism events, I seem to be hearing God’s voice and He seems to be giving me a promise … a promise that He will save the lost… Just two weeks ago (I guess so haha) , we went out witnessing as a DG, we trusted God for one PRC. We prayed and I truly, completely and entirely believed that there would really be one PRC! God is faithful to our prayer, he empowered me and sent the Holy Spirit into Zhen Zhen’s heart … she felt God’s knocking on her heart …

Despite my hardened heart and my reluctance and fear to evangelize, God used me to bring three girls , Zhen Zhen , Chloe and Evelyn, to Christ…in this one month. I was reluctant but God made me willing, I was confused but God brought me back to His purpose…

All Glory to PaPa
Tina :)

Up close & personal with Jun Kai

Jun Kai, Corny & BingxJun Kai, Corny & BingxI had an opportunity to meet up with Jun Kai, the 'New Kid On the Block' and did a short interview of how he came to know the Lord. He shared that he was on the journey searching for purpose in life and why he was studying so hard for as he thought he had a lot of passion for the interior design course that he is studying but surprising the answer was no, that's not his purpose. Then came Cornelyus and BingX who shared the gospel with him. Initially Jun Kai was thinking, huh Christian again? but still he thought why not give them a chance. He was deeply moved by the 2 guys sincerity and passion. At the same time. God was already preparing him. So He invited Jesus into his life with Cornelyus and Bings at the AOC, 18/10/2006.

Right now Jun Kai is going through follow-up with Cornelyus and Bings. Pray that God will continue to help Jun Kai to grow in Him! :)

To God be the Glory!

Yin Lei receives Christ

Yin LeiYin LeiYin Lei receives Christ on 2nd July 2006 while attending church service. Cun Zhe led him to pray and receive Jesus into his life!

He was worried about his tution grant as he mistaken the date of the submission. a group of brothers prayed for him and Cun Zhe encouraged him and taught him how to pray. With faith like a child, he prayed. God answered his prayers! The finance department grant him the chance to pay his tution grant. Yin Lei was thankful to God and gave thanks on the following sunday during service about what God has done.

[5-3-1] Joey's Encounter: Spiritual Breakthrough Is Here

I've been praying for some of my friend's salvation every night. At times it seems like nothing is happening, but I still continue praying because I know that God has better plans. Sometimes it becomes very frustrating when my prayers are not answered, or when my friends do not want to come to church with me after repeated invitations, which I have to humble myself just to ask them to join me for a church service.

On Tuesday night, my friend Wee Hong who is my bowling friend messaged me telling me that he was interested to come to my church as he was free. On hearing this, I was really glad as I have ask him to come to church for quite some time. I was really excited that God finally answered my prayer after four months. I told him to meet me at the train station on Sunday morning so that I could bring him to church, and hopefully share the gospel with him.

However, God also blessed two of my other friends that I prayed for. One of them who is my junior in secondary school is currently attending Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah) with one of his friend who invited him there. He told me that he finally found a church to settle in and I am really thankful for that.

Another friend whom I prayed told me that he believe in Jesus about a month ago. However, I am still praying for him as he does not attend church. I am really very delighted to see God working in many of my friend’s lives, and I hope that the other friends that I am praying for will soon come to know Christ.
